Extreme variability - saw a stout reactive 3 inch slab sitting on surface hoar, hard, supportable, slick windboard, facets to the ground, and a stout meter-thick slab sitting on facets near the ground (but was unable to get a column to release on those deep facets). All in close proximity, on near-identical elevation and aspect, with no obvious visible clues to changes. Surface hoar starting to form. No sign of avalanche activity or any red flags aside from a nightmare variety pack of snowpack structures. When/if we get a big load of new snow I think we'll have a big steaming mess on our hands. Danger rating today was based more on rocks and vegetation.
