Variable snow depth along the approach ridgeline with east/northeast faces feeling pretty punchy with pole probing. Bottom 6-7 inches facets (F). Snowpack is very shallow and shows evidence of diurnal faceting in some locations throughout the snowpack due to clear cold nights with warmer, sunny days.

Went up Mt. Aire from the north ridge. At the north summit, we dug a quick and dirty pit (~8:14 AM) above the fall line (NE, est 35 degrees, 8500ft) and performed an ECT with ECTP23 failing ~6" above ground on facets with sudden planar fracture characteristic. Snow depth is very shallow, and so a slide could break to ground.
