Weather Comments
Relatively warm and wet. Needed to wax skins to prevent clumping. Snowed around mid day then seemed to let up. Approached in lee of winds, so not so much an issue where we traveled.
Red Flags
Red Flags
Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
Primary red flag was still thin snowpack. Only about 10cms more since last weekend. Overall snowpack still is very weak and faceted. Stepping out of your skis results in sinking in almost to the ground.

Persistent Weak Layer

Problem #1 Comments
Today there wasn't enough snow to tip the scales where we were on the PC Ridgeline. But there was a pretty weak faceted layer below the new snow that is of concern. With more snow tomorrow, this might become problematic.

Comments
Today we were able to compare a manual pit to the Propagation Labs probe. Overall the probe identified the same weak crusts that denote the interfaces between different storms. The one exception was the new snow - old snow interface from today which was all very soft.
Snow profile created by Propagation Labs probe! We took approximately 12 to 16 observations with probe, all with pretty good consistency.
