Comments
Dug on a variety of aspects. In summary:
W-N-E has a HS of 40cm-65cm+, the deeper areas can be found in sheltered upper elevations. The surface snow is actually weaker down at low elevations, I would imagine due to the temperature inversions and cold clear nights.
S and SW is generally melted out. Low and moderate angel SE has a thick, yet breakable MF crust with facets underneath.
Facets on the North? Duh. Facets on the West? You bet! Facets on the SE? For sure! That is the theme, the snowpack is weakening everywhere and defining structures are slowly wasting away to the shallow snowpack. Trail breaking has actually become more difficult with the weakening of the snow. Soft turns can still be found in areas with a smooth bottom and shallow angles. This is going to be a snowpack to watch out for when we get a change of weather.
