Snow Characteristics
Snow Characteristics Comments
Soft snow can still be found in northerly protected terrain. Shady sheltered areas between about 8400-9000ft had ample small grain surface hoar. Sunny slopes with enough snow to ski had a pretty weak, soft 2-3cm crust.
Red Flags
Red Flags
Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
PWL is definitely there, but didn't have enough load and/or slab cohesion to be problematic in our travel today.

Comments
We dug at 9600ft on a WNW aspect and found 15-20cm basal facets with F/4F snow on top. We got CT15 at the facet/storm snow interface, and ECTP19 on the same layer.
Snow depth ranged from about 30cm on southerly aspects to 50cm on the north half of the compass. Max depth we found was 70cm on sheltered NW terrain. Here's a visual of the storm snow on a log.
