Comments
Stepped up the South face of the majestic Shortswing Summit (that's right) to feel for wind affect at 730am: little visible sign, no cracking or collapsing, thin wind slab forming. Crust layer was about 30cm down. Could not get propation on interface between this and new snow with ECT. ECTN9 in new snow; however, a much cleaner shear than yesterday on shovel tilt on the density change about 15cm down. So maybe what's above and below that weak layer have gained greater cohesion. Perhaps a layer of concern after these winds? Suprisingly Arctic on the summit, not given the forecast, but given the tranquility of the approach even the ridge was dramatically less abusive. West facing slope in aspens was not wind affected at 8am.
