Comments
We were out looking at snow. We found average snow depths on mid elevation polar terrain to be 145-170cm depending on how close you where to ridge lines. It seemed that the bulk of the snow depth here was from the Feb storms.
On SE we had ECT results on the Feb 2 weak layer failing above the crust on facets with the occasional feather of surface hoar.
On NW and NE we found poor structure. Our layer of concern was the weak snow at the ground. It was rounding and we had not results in the ECT.
1 photo is from wind transport that was filling in a skin track from today.
2 photo is of a long running wet loose from yesterday.
Last photos are additional photos from the recently reported avalanche just north of Bob's Knob. It appears to have run on the early Feb PWL, running mid pack on small facets (potentially the layer of surface facets buried in early February).
