Problem #1 Comments
Fully half of the snowpack in shcltered areas are sugary facets. In a 100 cm pit, on a 30 degree slope, the entire top 50 cm failed before I finished the backcut of my ETC test. On steep slopes, it would seem human caused avalanches are definate. I saw no signs of any natruary relases.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
New Snow
Problem #2 Comments
This week, elevations about 10,500 feet received about 8 inches of low density snow. Unusually for Tushar's there was very little wind loading or transport. The illusion that the snow pack may be stabilizing is just that.
