60 cm of facets below the 60 cm or so of new snow from the past week are a recipe for slides in steep, shaded areas particularly north facing. If we keep getting more snow weight on top of what we already have we are likely to get a good avalanche cycle with potential to go down to the dirt in some areas.

A number of point-release sluffs were seen in the north facing trees between Noriega's Face and Exxon's Folly, but were not as widespread as one might expect.
Punchy snow was found deep in the trees where the snow was not wind affected with hidden lumber being still the greatest danger there. The newest snow did not come in with wind which may explain the lack of many point releases. Wind affected ridges with the new snow on top provided some nice turns.
