Today's frontal passage around 5:15 pm brought a short but intense period of graupel. It punctured the soft snow surface and left a dimpled texture. I'm not sure this will be an important layer or not, or how widespread it was. But it could be important if graupel pooled below rock slab areas, in gullies or over hard wind slab areas. Some graupel was quite large - about 1cm in diameter.
