Another lovely day in the mountains. Warm in the sun, cold in the shade. Little to no wind.

Still a very mixed bag of surface conditions. Only very sheltered, very shaded terrain is holding soft snow.

No red flags were observed, minus some very obvious weak layers in our snowpit. It took quite a bit of force to get them to react, (ECTP 30+5 hard boot taps), but we finally got full propagation. NSF"s are also weakening under the lengthy High pressure.

  • Surface hoar or feathery frost crystals on the snow surface are fairly widespread in sheltered terrain.
