Problem #1 Comments
We dug today to see how the facets were looking farther north that our usual stomping grounds. (@8400 NNE) Knowing that there were some natural avalanches breaking into the PWL I was not surprised to find these down at the bottom. But what was surprising was the 340cm deep snowpack. Thinking that it might have blown in we probed around in sheltered areas and found it was all over 300cm. Showing that an avalanche failing here would certainly be catastrophic.

Problem #2 Comments
Up higher in the snowpack, we observed about 30 cm down it failed on a shovel tilt test and a column test. Ski cuts on test slopes were not yielding results. Though out the day snow continued to fall with visibility becoming slightly better around 1:00.
