Snow Characteristics Comments
Mixed bag, generally good riding conditions once you gain some elevation. Lower elevations took a hit from temps in the upper 30's. Mid elevations where still warm, hovering around 30 but there was greenhousing happening. Upper elevations snow quality was good, even on south aspects as long as the wind did not get to it.

Comments
I dug this pit on a NE aspect on the upper edge of treeline. It had likely seen some wind loading previously given the hard slabs within the snowpack. I found a HS of 155cm The upper end of the November drought layer has gained a lot of strength, the faceted snow closer to the ground is wet but has not yet gained a whole lot of hardness. But, with the weak snow being buried this deep is it just a waiting game for it to heal.
Good riding conditions can be found at mid and upper elevations, especially those that have not been affected by the wind. Another exception would be places in conifer trees that have been shedding lots of snow creating a firm layer on the top.
I did not observe any signs of instability today.
