Comments
Partner dropped into B&H knowing the inverted new snow (strong over weak) would fail upon entry. Partner skis so fast he out ran the sluff. First sluff ran 100' down slope and 9" deep stepping down into a 23" pocket creating much larger slide. Partner pulled off of slope to high ground after exiting chute and let snow go by. I on the other had was not strapped in as I was riding a bindless pow surfer. I slope cut the entry and had another pocket intentionally pull out. As out running a slide is not possible on my mode of transportation I chose to play avalanche hunter and continued to ride the slope making calculated cuts where needed. Bottom apron around debris pile showed visible signs of cracking but snow was much more stable on less steep angles. Over all invigorating day in the Wasatch with no shortage of adrenaline.
