Comments
Overall I am finding a deep and stable snowpack. I was using my probe to check snowpack depths and they were routinely over 1.5 meters, including on southerly aspects. We had no faceted layers in the snowpack prior to the blockbuster midweek storm and avalanche activity this week has involved new snow and fresh wind drifts.
The handful reports of wind loading and fresh wind drifts from Thursday is a reminder that avalanches involving pockets of wind-drifted snow remain possible along the upper-elevation ridge lines.
