Walked up Days to see where the snow started. I put my skis on at 8850, and was pleasantly surprised at the snow at that elevation on the north-northeast aspects. 75cm where I dug a pit, but it was highly variable, with almost nothing on rock right next to 60cm.
ECTN in my pit, but the top 5-10cms was faceting and just fell off. The range is because of the variability of the depth of the top layer. There was a thick 5cm pencil hardness crust at 15cm and two more very thin crusts I found going up at 34cm and 65cm. The skiing was fun but based on the facets on the top I was sluffing off as well as near the crusts any new snow could turn these aspects quite scary quickly.
