The couple of inches of snow from the 11/23 storm rests on a variety of supportable wind and heat crusts. Clear, cool nights and generally calm weather allows the surface snow to facet quickly.

We'll need to keep an eye on just how weak the surface snow becomes. With no significant storms in sight it's not an issue at the moment and we observed no red flags in our travels.

White from far...
...but far from white. The Uintas are still quite thin. The only game in town are upper elevation meadows facing the north half of the compass
