Comments
We noticed numerous recent natural loose avalanches entraining moist surface snow on steep sunny mid and upper elevation slopes. These probably occurred this morning and maybe some from yesterday after the sun popped out from behind the clouds for a bit. Most of the sluffs we saw would rate as size class 1 on a five-step scale, but some of the could have problematic if people had been involved.
We found very nice powder riding and skiing conditions at upper elevations in the Naomi Peak Area.
North facing terrain still offers lots of options. Watch out for and avoid overhanging cornices, as springtime warmth causes them to sag and sometimes calve off large chunks.
