Skied in the Moonlight and GB No area today. The weather really was a mixed bag, ranging from 1-2 inches per hour precip to rapid heating and back to precip around 1pm. Noted numerous sluffs off the upper cliff bands that likely released during the last storm. The only outlier was a storm slab on the upper part of moonlight that failed on a density inversion 4-5 inches deep within in the new snow. I was suprised that it propagated several 100 feet wide. Other than that, the main problem was sluffing, and we did not see any obvious signs of wind loading, but we also stayed clear of the ridge line. The new snow started slabbing up with a short but intese period of warming around 11am. Fortunately, clouds rolled in shortly after keeping the damage minimal. I would not be suprised to find the storm snow quite a bit more reactive tomorrow, especially on easterly aspects where it sits on a crust that formed before the storm cycle.
