I sank deeply into loose wet snow on the backside, and I noted elevated danger of wet avalanches in the area.

It is still possible to return to Beaver Mountain via the Spring Road, but much of the backside area (on the east side of Beaver Mountain) is melted out, at least in spots.
The snow was just too soft for my liking this afternoon on the eastern side of the mountain due to the heat. I was sinking through loose slushy snow all the way to the rocks in places with my skis on.
