Comments
I was a little surprised to see three recent avalanches on North - East slopes at aproximatly 8800' that are likely only a few days old. It appears these avalanches failed on a stout crust aproximatly 58cm down. I was able to feel and identify this layer in the areas I skied today, but had no red flags other than roller balls due to warming.
Generally skiing today on Northerly slopes was excellent. Today's flurries produced 2" of medium density powder adequate of producing some good surface sluffs of steep pitches.
