Comments
Anything south-facing went through a melt-freeze cycle yesterday, so we have another dust-on-crust situation there. However, protected slopes (either north-facing, shaded by trees or rocks, etc.) had excellent conditions. All of the small accumulations over the past few days made for great riding if the slope avoided the melt-freeze cycles. I did not see any evidence of avalanche activity aside from old wet loose debris that occurred during our warm spell. I don't think it would be fun to ride through that stuff on the slopes that get hit really hard by the sun - e.g. south-facing steeper slopes in LCC. Cardiff ridge (which runs N to S) showed signs of wind-loading on the leeward East aspects, but it was not enough to deter us from skiing those aspects. We didn't see any real wind slabs to worry about. Fun out there if you can locate the sweet spots!
