Comments
Avalanche crown fracture line was approximately 500 feet wide and was connected across rocky and treed terrain on this north face. Depth in the crown appeared 4 feet sustained across the slope with larger crown up to 6 feet in wind deposited zones. The avalanche most likely a natural release that could have occurred towards the end of the most recent snowfall, judging off the new snow transported on top of the deposition pile. Wind scouring and transported snow from leeward was visible across most of the face as you could see snow drifts, and ripples as well.
also of note 2 skiers traversed from near by Rocky Point ski cutting the slope over to sunset peak and rode down an open slope only 200 feet from the crown on nearly the same aspect. I fear other's will see tracks and think that it's safe when it's high high danger.
