Toured up here on Dec. 22 and climbed to the top of the ridge (before descending into Scott's Backdoor). Observed significant wind loading and cornice formation on the more north facing aspects as well as ski and snowboard tracks nibbling at the edges of the slope where the avalanche occurred. Today, it looked as though the slope either collapsed sometime on the 26th or early on the 27th. Fresh tracks just above the break may have been the trigger. May also have been triggered remotely by snowmobiliers riding on the low angle slopes below.
