Snow Characteristics Comments
Extremely variable conditions throughout the terrain traveled. Everything from patches of Loose Facets that were up to 15 cm deep with a mixture of Wind Board and M/F Crusts. In many areas the surface faceting is improving the riding conditions as the crusts are breaking down, yet challenging riding conditions pervail.

Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
Complicated conditions exist from 8500 up to the highest peaks with a variety of weak snow structures ranging from NSF's to developing DH in areas with 30 cm of total snow; as well as mid pack faceting found above buried Wind Slabs. When we do get a load, these weak layers will be an issue and their distribution is extremely variable.

Problem #1 Comments
See above, and though there is no load on these weak layers at the moment, their inconsistent distribution will most likely be an issue of concern when the weather patterns change to a more active period.
Of note were scores of CTM RP on buried facets 25 cm down resting on a 1F + Wind Slab at 10,350, NNW.
