Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Wind Drifted Snow
Trend
Same
Problem #1 Comments
The winds over the weekend have certainly made their mark. West faces are scoured and there are signs of wind loading on N-E aspects. Photo below of South Monitor is a great example of snow deposited on the leeward slope. Jumped on plenty of test slopes with no results, with the outlier being some cracking around 9200 ft on a NW aspect. This area was pretty well sheltered from the wind.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Normal Caution
Problem #2 Comments
Early season conditions exist. Plenty of rocks, bushes and branches to get hung up on. Also exercise caution when exiting Willow Fork, there are some tricky spots on the skintrack that could really ruin your day if you get going too fast. As always be considerate of others.
Comments
Still windy out there, however not any noticeable snow left for transport. A few good turns on W-NW facing aspects, conditions were a little bit tricky down low, a combination of wind affected and wet snow.
