Weather Comments
Cold clear morning. Sun warmed East and NE aspects by about 10 am even to highest elevations. As forecast, the snow surface on these aspects quickly became damp. Ski cuts easily produced wet loose sluffs and push-a-lanches. I kept slope angles below about 30-33 degrees today. Hand pits showed a shear plane about 2” above the old M/F crust. I found mostly stable snow. Skiers on steeper slopes appeared to trigger some dry sluffs or possibly some small slabs above 9000’. North and NW aspects hadn’t heated up yet and were still dry down to 6500’ when I left at noon.
