Decreasing Danger
Problem #1 Comments
There was 1-5 inches of new, unconsolidated powder on top of the melt-freeze crust from the last storm. This snow stayed dry until around 2pm when it started to get damp, even on some northerly aspects. It seemed to be pretty stable except for in high angle terrain. There was a lot of roller balls and pieces of cornices that have fallen over the last couple days and brought down a surprising amount of snow with them. I would expect the wet snow activity to subside as it further consolidates and likely has a refreeze tonight.

Increasing Danger
Problem #2 Comments
Pieces of cornices are starting to naturally break off. Give cornices a wide area and do not be on the slope below. Many pieces are running through trees up to 500'.
Comments
Started out my tour around 10 this morning. Walked up the summer road and transitioned to skis where the trail leaves the road. Skies were completely clear until noon when the wind started to pick up and a couple clouds rolled in. The sun was intense all day and temperatures were above freezing at ridgelines. By 2pm there was a constant moderate wind at upper elevations. Over the past couple days, roller balls and pieces of cornice have been coming down in this area. The size ranges from backpack to suitcase size and the activity is widespread. Some of these are running up to 500', are large enough to knock a person over, and in a couple spots have triggered small wet avalanches. I suspect the amount of cornices falling will increase over the next few days. This all made the skiing more akin to traveling through avalanche debris on most slopes. Interestingly most activity is on northerly slopes and I only saw a couple small wet slides on south facing slopes. There was windloading in isolated areas along the ridgeline. There was some cracking running a foot or so out from my skis in exposed terrain probably due to wind slab and the sun. I heard one large crack on the skin track where it deviated to the side of the ridgeline.
