I entered Fire Water bowl after descending the ridge on skiers left to gain a better view of the bowl. I descended a little further than intended and found myself on top of very small wind lip/cornice, and after contemplating the safety of the run decided to enter the bowl.
Immediately as I entered a 1" slab released with most of the propagation occurring to skiers left across the ridge. I would guess the crown was about 75 feet wide. I bailed right and was fortunate to find stable snow despite exposed terrain. I watch the hill slide from there.
The slide was small and low consequence. Maybe would have taken feet out from under you but not enough to burry. However, it was enough to give me pause and remind me to be humble in the mountains.
