Found some shallow soft damp snow in sheltered higher elevation terrain. Exposed areas were hard and wind-hammered. At upper elevations there's a thin rime crust on the snow surface, capped by surface hoar
Overall pretty good solid riding conditions, but not powder.
Comments
1. Graupel still somewhat intact from the second week of February about 40cms down.
2. Dust layer.
3. Surface hoar.
4. Riding conditions are excellent. (Thanks to Northstars of Logan for supporting our mission. Having this Polaris ride gets us safely and quickly around the mountains.)
5. Lots of crusts in this pit along with surface hoar, facets, preserved graupel, and rounds galore. ( ECTNs )
