Comments
Handpits from 8,000-9,000 ft yielded generally the same results: the new snow from this past weekend's storm on sliding on top of the February 7th Dickens crust. However, this new snow slid off of the crust with far less energy than it did on similar aspects this past weekend.
Interestingly enough, several handpits above 9,000 ft indicated a more stable structure. In these pits, the new snow barely slid off of the Dickens crust at all, appearing to be bonding well to the underlying crust.
Several ski cuts on small test slopes suggested that the new snow is only sluffing under foot and fracturing locally. No propogation noted. I did not test any windloaded slopes, but I imagine the story would be a bit different.
The riding on the NE aspect was soft and incredible, with minor sluff management being the main consideration. I can't speak for wind-affected terrain, but danger seems to be trending toward low.
