Red Flags
Red Flags
Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comments
WInd slabs have settled out and the only main sign of instability continues to be poor structure and propagation on northerly facing slopes.
Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Problem #1 Comments
With wind slabs settled out avalanche concerns lie mostly with the persistent slab problem. While the probability of triggering something on one of the persistent weak layers formed right after Christmas is decreasing - I still consider them possible based on propagation in snow stability tests. Would like to see a more consistent lack of propagation in pits before considering this problem resolved.
