Snow Profile Comments
A wind loaded cornice containing yesterday’s storm snow had some sun and had warmed for a small part of the morning.
As reported one of the main issues to look for was the wind loading up top at high elevations.
Comments
This was remotely triggered on our second lap of Two Trees for the day. No cracking had been seen which is why we were on the second lap.
i was walking along the established skinner on the ridge connecting Cardiff and Little Superior when I heard/saw the cornice right next to the skin track fail all the way to the bed surface. I know what the total depth was but it was deep and about 40 feet wide.
No one was below in or around the slide path.
