Increasing Danger
Problem #1 Comments
Dense wind drifted snow on lower density snow was the main problem today. These slides seemed to run on top of an old crust buried under last weeks snow.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
New Snow
Trend
Increasing Danger
Problem #2 Comments
Heavy new snow may create avalanche hazzard in wind sheltered areas because of higher density snow sitting on lower density snow. We will see tomorrow.
Comments
Several examples of remotely triggered slides and video of wind loading on a small slope that had already slid.
