Avalanche Problem #1
Problem
New Snow
Trend
Same
Problem #1 Comments
About 12 inches of new snow on top of sun crust. Seems to be bonding well with no fracture in ECT.
Avalanche Problem #2
Problem
Persistent Weak Layer
Trend
Decreasing Danger
Problem #2 Comments
A weak layer is still present near the ground with a slight crust about 18" up. The facets present since our early storms finally seem to be adhering and settling out. Test pit to the ground near the top of the East Face. No fracture on ECT.
Comments
Overall snow structure is getting better. We approached from Mill D on the East ridge and saw no signs of cracking or collapsing. Dig a test pit to the ground and got no reaction to ECT test. Riding was great-about 12" new on top of a stable crust. Overall stability looks to be improving.
