Problem #1 Comments
Obvious signs of erosion and snow deposited on the Flagstaff shoulder. Wind was blowing out of the S-SW and the snowpack was reactive where I was. Compression test led to column fracturing at CTM12 about 35cm down from surface. On tap number 16 the entire column fractured from about 80cm down from the surface. Compression test was at 9700 ft on 159 degree S-SE facing slope. It appears that the wind since our last snowfall over the weekend has had a significant effect on the stability of the snowpack. Wind increased from 0830 to 1030 when I made my decent.

Problem #2 Comments
Complicated snowpack from my experience over the past few weeks in the Wasatch. Persistent weak layer continues to be a sneaky problem.
