There was about 2 inches of new snow, mainly graupel with a few stellars mixed in, seemed well bonded to the old snow on northerly slopes.
Comments
Went up to Reynolds peak to ski on the flanks of the avalanche that ran on Saturday. Not a whole lot had changed except the wind slab in the top being gone. I was able to cut out a few shallow wind slabs off the part of the peak that didn’t slide but they weren’t running too far once off the top of the ridge line. The snow pack on NE facing Reynolds Peak is pretty thin due to earlier avalanches and seems doomed to be a repeater if we have a dry spell giving the thin snow pack time to facet out.
photos: wind slab triggered on the peak, and I hope everyone has a merry Christmas
