I headed up to both Duke and Hoyt peak today. I did not see any wind loading in the areas I visited. Ski cuts above steep terrain produced manageable sluffs. All the cornices in this area are still very small and manageable. My snow pit showed a mostly stable snowpack, however; that did not lure me into open terrain.
