Weather and Snow

Clouds have begun streaming over the region head of a Pacific storm system that looks like it will bring some much needed snow to the mountains. Much needed is a bit of an understatement given that we are down to 2" at the Geyser Pass Trailhead, and the upper bowls and cirques above treeline have been stripped bare to the rocks. 3" - 5" of snow exists between 10,000' and treeline in sheltered areas.

Southwesterly ridge top winds are blowing in the 10-15 mph range and it's 25 degrees at, 11,000'. Geyser Pass trailhead is reporting 35 degrees.

Snow totals at the Geyser Pass Trailhead, (9600')

Wind, temperature, and humidity on Pre Laurel Peak (11,700')
