Snow Characteristics Comments
Aspect was key. Southern aspects had a 5cm thick crust over approximately a 15 cm base and were frozen at 830am. East thru Northwest were more varied depending on exposure to wind. Great powder skiing on northern aspects protected from the wind.

Rapid Warming
Red Flags Comments
Rollerballs were running almost immediately when we broke out of treeline in USA Bowl, continued all morning on all aspects. We saw several natural roller releases in West Monitor under the huge cornice that ran full track, appeared to be the size of a bowling ball at start growing to TV-sized. They ran full track.

Problem #1 Comments
Snow warmed and moistened quickly on all aspects exposed to the sun. Even in the trees it was skiing damp.
Comments
Overall good conditions, not great. Yesterday's sun put a thick crust on southern aspects. The ridgeline was moderately scoured but it looked like all of the "upper midwest" in USA Bowl was blown by the wind, maybe what loaded up Scott Hill's cornice fall from yesterday? It will be nice to have a refresh on Sunday. Low danger today, as long as you were away from corniced ridgelines. Estimate tomorrow's danger rating low and rising to moderate on sun exposed aspects by midday.
