Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

The avalanche danger remains generally LOW. There is a minor pockety MODERATE danger along the upper ridgelines where a person might find a small new wind slab that could crack out. These won't result in burial but could produce injury if they catch you off guard.

Weather and Snow

Ridge top temperatures have been hovering around 30 overnight and the wind is light to moderate in speed shifting more south and southwest. New snow amounts are less than the forecasted low end amounts. The mountains picked up another 1 to 2 inches in the last 24 hours bringing totals up to around 4 inches since Thursday night.

There is a slight chance that a person might be able to find some fresh wind drifts that are sensitive enough to crack out. Keep your eyes open for these if you're traveling along the higher ridges.

Additional Information

There is still a chance that we could pick up a few inches of snow today but to tell you the truth, I'm not all that hopeful at this point. High temperatures will get into the low 30s. Wind will be from the west in the moderate speed range.
