Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

The avalanche danger is generally LOW. Continue to follow safe protocols by only placing one person on a steep slope at a time. Avoid being on steep slopes and terrain traps such as steep gullies if you are experiencing the snow becoming really wet.

Huntington Canyon is currently closed but will most likely re-open today.

Weather and Snow

Sunny slopes became wet on Sunday and will be crusted this morning. Temperatures were not too warm on Sunday and we did not see any significant wet snow avalanche activity. Recently formed drifts along the ridges seemed pretty stubborn and we did not experience any cracking within the drifts.

Additional Information

High pressure reigns for most of the week with lots of sun and mild temperatures. The next storm is shaping up for Friday into Saturday. As of now I'd say it looks fairly decent although it will be somewhat warm. Stay tuned.
