Issued by Eric Trenbeath for
Friday, January 27, 2017

The avalanche danger is generally MODERATE in the Abajo/Blue Mountains, but areas of CONSIDERABLE danger remain in steep, upper elevation, wind drifted terrain that faces NW-NE-SE. In these areas the possibility for humans to trigger a deep and dangerous avalanche still exists. Avoid areas with smooth, rounded deposits of wind drifted snow, and suspect terrain steeper than about 30 degrees.
