Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

Brett Kobernik
Issued by Brett Kobernik for
Friday, January 13, 2017

The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE today. Natural avalanches are not expected but human triggered avalanches are likely. It is wise to ease slowly into steeper terrain after big snow events like we just had. Stability should improve fairly quickly but some more investigation needs to be done to determine that. Stick to lower angle terrain until we get a handle on how much avalanche activity happened during the storm and how sensitive things still are.
