Forecast for the Abajo Area Mountains

The avalanche danger is MODERATE today on steep, upper elevation slopes that have a NW-E-SE aspect. Suspect the lee sides of ridge crests and terrain features such as sub ridges and gully walls. Avoid steep slopes with recent deposits of wind drifted snow. Out of the wind zone at mid and lower elevations the danger is mostly LOW.

A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 31. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

A 40 percent chance of snow. Widespread blowing snow, mainly after 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Windy, with a southwest wind around 30 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph.
