Problem #1 Comments

I did not see any evidence of wind slab today so I have to put persistent slab at the top. Where I dug deep today I must have barely been above the rain line from 12/17. I found evidence of rounding particles but no rain crust. I also could not find a weak grain sitting on the 12/17 snow surface. But I did find the surface hoar from 12/30 and had an ECTP 15 and 17 Sudden Collapse.

Didn't find a whole lot today that screamed "Heads Up" The second half of the storm came in very right side up. Really the riding was stellar in flatter terrain. With the "R" word being thrown around for the next storm I am worried both about the Persistent layer and what happens to our new surface. Rain would not be all bad but really heavy snow on the current snow surface would be prime!

1. Surface Hoar layer. 57cm down.

2. Snowcover toward Blacksmith Fork and the Wellsvilles

Video

It was supportable and deep riding today!!
