The older snow prior to this storm below 9400' (perhaps a bit higher although I didn't get above that today) is damp all the way to the ground. It was just starting to freeze back up a bit when I was digging out the weather station. This is going to make for a very strong base layer.

I did not find any layer anywhere in the snowpack of concern. I was not able to produce any clean shears or get propagation in tests. The snowpack is looking very good to me. I would continue to play it cautious on the steep higher north through east facing slopes where the recent insane wind has no doubt loaded those slopes. Those slopes should continue to settle and become stable fairly quickly.

The new snow was almost too deep to travel. By Sunday, travel should be already quite a bit easier.
