Forecast for the Skyline Area Mountains

Brett Kobernik
Issued by Brett Kobernik on
Monday morning, February 8, 2016

The avalanche danger is MODERATE today which means human triggered avalanches are possible. Slopes steeper than 35 degrees that face northwest through east which have already avalanched this season are the most prone to releasing right now. Watch the sunny slopes as they warm up because they may become wet enough to produce wet loose avalanches by mid day.

On Sunday, a sledder was caught and carried along with his sled in an avalanche he triggered when he neared the top of a slope in Jolly's Hole which is south of the top of Ephraim Canyon. Not much more is known but it sounds like he is alright. DETAILS
