Traveled around the Hoyt Peak area today. Nice to see see things filling in, even at the lower elevations. Wintry feeling day with mostly cloudy skies, calm winds and cool temps.

The sun didn't come out enough today to affect the snow.

Pit tests showed weak interfaces just below the newest storm snow (22cm/8.5" down) and down 41cm (16"). ECT's did not propagate across the column but the shear quality was very smooth and planar (Q2) where it did fail.

The temp profile reflected an equitemperature snowpack.

I would call it a moderate danger where we traveled today, trending toward decreasing danger. Steepen up the slope angle (35°+) and maybe more like considerable, especially in any wind loaded terrain. Sun will be a factor to watch in the next few days with the forecasted warm temps. Increasing danger on solar aspects with sunny, warm days ahead.
