The avalanche danger is MODERATE on slopes steeper than 35 degrees that face W-N-E at mid to upper elevations. We are currently in a low probability - high consequence phase for triggering a dangerous avalanche in these areas. There is also a MODERATE danger in upper elevation, wind exposed terrain that faces SW-S-E.

Weather and Snow

The snowpack is still relatively thin but there is enough snow to ride around on. Base depth varies from around 2' at lower elevations to around 3' up high. Winds have affected the snow surface in exposed areas, but settled powder remains in sheltered locations.

Additional Information

A solid El Nino pattern will send several fast moving storm systems across the southwest and intermountain regions through the upcoming week. The first system is tracking to the south and will brush by our area tonight. 3-7" of snow are possible through Tuesday. By Wednesday, a second trough will spread further north across our area bringing a chance for more significant snow totals. Thursday through Sunday show a continuation of moisture streaming through the area.

Snow likely, mainly after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 24. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Snow. Low around 13. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 21. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 15 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
